Playing GridShark
GridShark is made by Redbark Labs LLC. This policy explains how the game, this website, and support requests handle information. For privacy questions, email contact@redbarklabs.com.
You do not need an account to play. We do not operate a game server that receives your gameplay or saves, and GridShark does not include analytics SDKs of its own.
Your levels, stars, crowns, hints, Daily Dive results and settings (such as sound, haptics and colour-vision options) are saved on your iPhone only. They are not synced to a cloud service, and Redbark Labs can’t see them.
Ads from Google AdMob
GridShark is free to play and is supported by ads served by Google AdMob, Google’s mobile advertising service. Today, GridShark shows an ad only when you choose to watch one: for example, to earn an extra hint, or for more moves in a Shark Challenge. If we add other ad placements, we will update this policy first.
When the game requests or shows an ad, Google’s software in the app receives information from your device to serve and measure ads and to prevent fraud. According to Google, this can include your IP address (and approximate location derived from it), device and app information, ad interactions, diagnostics, and an advertising identifier. Apple’s advertising identifier (IDFA) is used only if you allow tracking when iOS asks. Google processes this information under its own terms; see how Google uses information from apps that use its services and Google’s privacy policy.
We ask AdMob to show only ads rated suitable for general audiences. Redbark Labs does not receive information that identifies you from these ads; we see aggregated reports such as how many ads were shown and what they earned.
If you install GridShark after seeing an ad, Apple’s privacy-preserving ad attribution (SKAdNetwork) may tell that ad network a coarse, anonymous signal. It doesn’t identify you or your device.
Your ad choices
Tracking on iPhone. The first time you open GridShark, iOS asks whether the app may track you. If you choose not to allow it, ads can still appear when you choose to watch one, but they won’t use your advertising identifier. You can change this anytime in iPhone Settings under Privacy & Security, then Tracking.
Europe, the UK and Switzerland. In these regions GridShark shows Google’s consent message before ads can use your data, and you can choose what to allow. To change your choice later, open the game’s Settings and tap Ad privacy choices.
No ads at all. The optional GridShark Plus purchase removes ads. Every level stays free either way.
Purchases & Apple services
GridShark Plus is an optional one-time in-app purchase processed by Apple. We never receive your payment details. The game asks Apple to confirm what you own so it can unlock Plus, and Restore purchase asks Apple to check again.
Apple handles downloading and updating the app. Depending on your device settings, Apple may also process diagnostics or include app data in device backups. A device restore may restore that data. These services are governed by Apple’s privacy policy; GridShark does not control them.
Visiting this website
This website has no accounts, contact forms, advertising, or analytics scripts. The site itself does not set cookies or use browser storage to track visitors. Fonts and artwork are served with the site rather than loaded from third-party font or social-media services.
This website is hosted on Google’s Firebase Hosting. Firebase Hosting processes visitor IP addresses to detect abuse and provide hosting usage analysis. Google states that Hosting retains IP data for a few months. See Firebase’s privacy and security information.
When you contact us
If you email us, we receive your email address, message, and any attachments you choose to send. We use this information to respond and investigate your request. Our email provider processes correspondence to deliver and store it. The game does not automatically attach your progress.
Please send only what is needed to describe the problem. You do not need to provide passwords, payment information, or personal details about a child. We do not sell support correspondence or use it for advertising or cross-app tracking.
Retention & deletion
Your progress stays on your iPhone until you remove it. Deleting the app removes its local data; offloading the app can keep that data. Device backups are separate and may retain or restore app data. We do not keep a server copy that support can restore. Information Google collects through ads is retained under Google’s policies.
We retain support correspondence for as long as needed to answer the request, investigate related issues, and meet applicable recordkeeping requirements. To request deletion of information you sent us, email contact@redbarklabs.com. We will explain if particular information needs to be retained.
Children’s privacy
GridShark is made for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. It does not request a player’s name, age, email address, or location to play, and its ads are limited to content rated suitable for general audiences. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us so we can address the request.
Changes & contact
We will update this page if these practices change. The date above identifies the current policy text.
